Symphony of the Blood in Love
By Samara Bissonnette
And so kiss me to excite the blood with music.
Speak only yea that you love;
Waste not a breath on coy pleasantries,
But breathe your symphony of affection into my veins.
Join your lips with mine in a chorus of harmonic physicalities.
Conduct with the tempo of our allegro hearts
And cue the crescendo of emotion with brio,
Falling into the intimacy of andante comfort.
Play pianissimo with your touch upon my face
And whisper to me in dolce smiles.
As the symphony nears its final chords,
Trill gently your sighs into my ear
And soften the staccato blood pulse
With a legato slur into silence.
And so kiss me again,
To appease the stirring musicians with an obliging encore.
