Seven
By Linda M. Crate
I wear your necklace
I wear your ring
you’re the one that
makes my heart sing —
hair colored like the
flaxen of the grain,
you’re quite amazing;
you drive me insane!
thoughts of you linger
when I gaze out my window —
you make my smile remain,
and cause happiness to flow
when I thought that I
couldn’t possibly smile,
it was then that you shot
joy longer than a mile
to embrace me in it’s arms —
everyday is a new heaven,
just to hear two strands speaking
in sympathy, and if seven
is the magical number may
I spend seven eternities with you;
because I know standing at your side
I would never again be blue.
