My Child
By David Frazier
Small children see things differently from adults
They live in a world all their own
Friends they have are invisible to others
Sometimes giants, dragons, or shiny knights
Dads and Moms care for you so much
You won't ever know the pain that they endure
Protecting you from things that are bad and cruel
Your safe, till you grow up to be someone of worth
Growing up is hard to do, my child
Leaving home, meeting new people, working jobs that don't fulfill
Live your life, have no regrets, my child
For I love you more than life itself.

I am a retired steelworker living in Northern Indiana with my wife Kathie. I have been writing since retiring in 2003. I have recently started writing poetry on a variety of subjects
