Seasons of Love
By Linda M. Crate
I feel as if I could tell you anything,
and you would not be chased away by
the purport of my words; whether in
malice or in joy, whether kind or unkind —
you love me unconditionally, and it’s
unlike anything I’ve known; I don’t want
to push you away, but there’s a part of
me that wants to test the boundaries to
see just how deep the depths of your love
go, to see if they wash upon me with the
torque of the ocean; I see that they are
unending as the cycle of daisies marching
upon my yard every spring, so are we
dying and revived with each season of love.
