Untamed Love
By T.C. Stevenson
With so little hope,
Would it not be martyrdom
To succumb to the temptations
Of an untamed love?
To cast one’s self
Into the scorching fires of passion
And burn in hopes of finally seeing the light
In a lovers eyes?
Is there no nobler test of true love?
No greater testament
Than to stand in defiance of insurmountable odds
With naught but poetry upon my lips?
Let this be my sacrifice
Let my heart stand upon an altar of words;
A tribute to the Goddess of the coffee shop.
This is for you.
