Pining
By Linda M. Crate
I fall headfirst, fearless in love —
I know that I shouldn’t be so
impulsive, that I should be more
grounded in reason; but I can’t
help, but lose all semblance of
sense when you’re around; you’re
an intoxicating bloom I cannot
get enough of, unique in shape
yet lovely, too, and I wonder if
you’ll ever see me the way I do
you; this overwhelming yearning
for you is more than I can bear.
