Lovely As Regret
By Linda M. Crate
you're lovely as regret unutterable,
and I fell for your charisma and
charm; I thought you were the
glistening diamond of my heart's
desire, but you were just the villain
that would impale me with his
venomous words - then he'd keep
twisting the dagger until my heart
was swept away in a ruby flood;
once upon a time in golden autumn
laughter I thought there was a
chapter for you and I yet you
were merely the poisoned apple that
would have led to certain death
had I not found prince charming.
