Apollo
By Linda M. Crate
if I were that nymph and you were Apollo
I’d let you catch me every time, your
laurels of blonde tresses caress my heart
with such a vivid loveliness I can barely contain
my joy; my heart beating out the roses that
are the blue of your eyes, you dance respite upon
me in my weakest of moments; a breathtaking
beauty that etched his topography upon my heart —
just when I thought that I would never feel
anything deep as an ocean anymore, you broke
open the gates of my heart and poured forth all her
waters to encircle us in her wings; carrying
us to the best clover and pirouetting on moon beams.
