You Fill The Void
By Linda M. Crate
you’re a galaxy of your own,
blazing so hot that my stars
cannot fathom you; the milky
way has nothing on you, you’re
the sweetest candy bar I’ve
ever tasted, you dance on my
tongue like a forbidden word
that spills forth clumsily, it’s
stain flying across the table in a
bold stain that utters it’s presence
in tones more dulcet than a dragon’s
roaring; you look at me as if I
shine more radiantly than a diamond,
but I think that splendor has been
reserved for your countenance —
you wash over me like a tempest,
your salt washing away all my flaws;
you burn a new purport of passion
to beat through my veins, you summon
forth joy and happiness where there
previously had been nothing but void.
