Hopes and Fears
By Tess Devine
I fear she's the same thing wrapped in a different package.
I fear she's sprinkled sugar on a pile of garbage, hoping you'll think it's candy.
I fear you've once again chosen from the pool of familiarity
in the hopes that you can expedite your love for her because you've already known her for so long.
I hope I'm wrong.
I hope she's everything you've hoped for.
