I forgive you
By Nduku Wambua
I forgive you
For all the pain
I have felt in these past few months.
I forgive you
For the lies you told
All the while
You looked me in the eye.
I forgive you
For your lips on my lips
On my ears
My neck
When you knew
Just moments ago
They were on someone else.
I forgive you
How you made me feel
Though it felt right
And
It was clearly wrong.
I forgive you
For the times
My heart skipped a beat
When I saw you.
I forgive you
For all the times
You said ‘I love you’
When you knew it was a lie.
I forgive you
The smiles
You brought to my face
The tears
In my eyes.
I forgive you
For the love you took
And
Never returned.
I forgive you
For not loving me
Like I wanted you to
Like I needed you to.
