You
By Stephanie Hart

It was quarter to nine,
On a summer's night,
The air was still,
The dark was light.

At the end of the road,
Beneath the tree,
There you stood,
You'd been waiting for me.

My heart beating, ten to one,
Thought I'd lost, with you I'd won,
Your smile,
Your eyes,
Your everything,
Our love everlasting.

Now we're nothing,
From a kiss to a glance,
How could we go from that,
You never gave us a chance.

I picked up the phone, out of the blue,
My fingers moved, they dialled you,
Your voice,
Your laugh,
Your everything,
I never did stop loving.

Can we go back to the beginning?
Can we start again?
Can we try something new?
Just us tonight,
Just me and you.
