By Shane Crabtree
11:11 haunts me,
Just like the smile that won't reach your eyes
Step by step, you're leaving me behind.
11:11 finds me,
Your pictures on the wall
The diamonds of your eyes, turned back to coal
Matching the darkness you hid deep within your soul.
11:11 screams,
The past that won't let me be
Our memories play on and on
A silent film with a definitive ending.
11:11 blazes neon in the distance,
Walking down this dust-filled road
Keeping time to a broken heart cadence,
Blood-stained hands reaching, but nothing to hold.
11:11 strikes,
My rosary begins to fray.
Love as sweet as wine, turned to vinegar with age.
11:11 never letting go,
The clock fails as we stay frozen in time.
You say that love isn't enough,
But you've been known to lie.
