Let Me Adore You
By Amit Parmessur

Stroke me.
Paint me.
Slap me

Make me your ukulele
and stroke me
Stroke me to the content of your mind
Drown me in the tornado of
your lips
Shape me into scarlet clouds
and when your tyrannous will
is done toss me into the
ravine of your lap.

Paint me.
Slap me
Stroke me.

Make me your paint
and paint me.
Let me smile in the sky of your eye
Rear me in the plush mole of
your pupils
Let your fears cut me
I am the immovable wave.

Slap me
Stroke me.
Paint me.

Make me your drum
and slap me
like a ricochet of bliss
Slap me with the terror
of your soft nails
and deflate my cheeks
of falsehood

Stroke me
for
what is the stroke without the stroking.
What is the stroking without the stroke

Paint me
for
what is the painting without the paint
What is the paint without the painting

Slap me
for
What is the slap without the slapping
what is the slapping without the slap.

Stroke me
Paint me.
Slap me

but let me adore you
