She Lied
By Divenita
His once strong body, now fragile,
His chemo-ed body, frail and agile
She look at him from the glass opening,
before she could get in,
She wiped her tears,
and cremated her fears
As she sat beside him, in a chair close to his bed,
He looked away, pretending to be dead
..........
finally he looked and faked a smile
and as he would ask every day,
“how do I look today” he asked
“As lovely as ever “ she lied
“LIAR!!” He shouted as tears pinched his withered cheek
but she stopped her tears, so that she wouldn’t go weak
she continued
"No, Bismil, Your eyes as magnificent as ever
Comforting me that we would live together forever"
"Your hands," gingerly placing her fingers between gaps of his
"remind me of our times, together, Isn’t that bliss?"
"your golden soul! the happiness within your heart you share"
she pointed to a little boy, wrapped in an expensive t-shirt that he gave
“You are beautiful” she said and smiled
Still holding his hand,
together, they cried in joy for a while
