ENIGMA

It begins with a swell
in your eyes, your
heart, then its
a familiar song,
the way he looks at you

The swell progresses to
tears of happiness and
guilt, like two hands
wrapped around
your heart

A song, a movement
and you are
in a room
just you and me
starring at each other

This is finding yourself
comfortably,
like looking in the mirror
and liking what you see

My name is Nicole Resnick. I am a current graduate from CU Boulder and I love writing poems about love and the hurt it can sometimes cause. Each of these poems describes the hurt that love can have on someone and how sometimes the pain that doesn't go away.
