Haunted
By George Baker
What can I say? She reminded me of my wife.
Same eyes
Same hair
A twist of Russian in her accent
The haunted disgust of a discarded husband
Lingering in her eyes
Every time we made love
Every time I pressed her to the sheets
And left her sweating,
Panting
Fulfilled.
