Give and Take
By Harriet Levy
When I married him, I gave my heart to him. When I took him, carried his child, I gave my life to him. When I left my job, chained myself to the kitchen, I gave my soul to him. In the end, when he held everything I could give, he took it with him, left me empty, left me for a woman with eyes as cold as glaciers.
As cold as turned backs and fate.
