I cry when you call
Not because I love you
Not because I miss your voice
Not because I crave your touch
Not because you mean more to me than life
Than self
But because, when you call,
It is always to say:
I need time
I need space
I need to be alone
I need to be me
Without you.

I’ll never understand
The need to feel
What it is like
To miss someone.
