Air
By Johanna Colbath
Just one breath,
a sigh of contentment
falls warm from your lips,
landing on my arm.
With eyes closed,
your mouth slightly
turns up in the corners,
a blind smile.
House creaks become
a symphony
amongst silence—
no words necessary.
Just one breath,
your chest rises and falls.
My head follows;
I won’t move.
