Let Me Lie
By Fred E. Beaulieu

Let me lie in your arms till this madness subsides
When the torrents of tempests assail from all sides
Let your tender embrace be my refuge at night
When my barricades falter and courage takes flight

Like a fortress that promises safety’s rewards
So I long for the peace that your bosom affords
Keep me sheltered from torments that ravage my mind
In my wretched exposure, defenseless and blind

Through my desperate sobs, I will whisper your name
As the one who absolves all my weakness and shame
Through my tear flooded eyes I will search for your face
In my quest for salvation, bestowed by your grace

I will cling to your love in my times of distress
As a child to his blanket when nightmares transgress
In the light of your comfort all shadows retreat
And dark dreams that oppress me succumb to defeat

In the day when my eyes shall awaken no more
When the angels escort me to Heaven’s sweet shore
I will carry a solace throughout those blest lands
From the succor and love I received at your hands
