Fire-eyes
by Lena Judith Drake

You drive me crazy, you drive me crazy,
little soft-eyes, brown eyes, fire-eyes,
direct intensity,
or nonconnectivity.
Reckless smiles and reckless words.

Little pushes, little shoves,
you confuse me, turn me around, a swirling skirt;
I'm half-hurt and half-grinning, inside and out
leave me laughing and stinging
like giddy acid rain.
And you can merge with my hips.
And you can merge with my broken-glass hips.
