Without You

Standing at the corner of Love and Hate, I wait for you, but you never come.
Cars pass, people pass, opportunities pass, and still I wait.
I wait, and still you never come.
I check my watch, sigh. It’s the couples’ parade, Valentine’s Day.
A piece of heartshaped confetti lands in my neglected hair.
And still, no you.
