Silent Night
By Glenda Grande
I'll close my eyes under these diamond stars,
Knowing under the same sky, you lay afar.
We'll whisper confessions into the velvet night;
Into the silence, while watching the candlelight.
Our eyes filled with tears - who cries first?
I've tried my best to hold back this hurt;
To erase this illusion in my heart called love -
I don't think I can handle something this rough.
This tension, it suffocates me. Can we go back?
If only you and I could be how we were. Backtrack
To the days we lived in harmony; with love in mind.
Now time has become the enemy - being so unkind.
I placed my apologies by your door, along with a rose,
Then I turned and walked away, tears falling to my toes.
I could wait for you, if you tell me to wait for you, but no -
I know what's best for me, and that's to step away. I'll go.
With our eyes closed, laying under the same silent sky,
Can you and I whisper goodbye in this emotional high?
Goodnight, sweet dreams; tomorrow is a brand new day.
Perhaps then, we can express the things we want to say.

'Come with me and I'll take you on a stroll. Let me reveal the world to you in my perspective'
Lend me your heart, and allow to cast the angelic illusion.'
A collection of poetry and prose written by a young woman, telling the tales of life with artful words.
